Are you a detail-minded, service-oriented Database Administrator with strong SQL Server and Oracle skills, ready to tackle client initiatives? In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and performance of critical client database systems. As our ideal candidate, you will ensure database security, integrity, stability, and optimal performance while supporting client data needs.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Services
- Design, implement, and maintain SQL Server and Oracle database systems
- Perform database installs, configurations, migrations, and upgrades
- Monitor database performance and implement optimization strategies
- Develop and implement backup and recovery procedures
- Configure and maintain database servers and related applications
- Establish and maintain database security
- Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolutions
- Collaborate with development teams to support application needs
- Document database structures, procedures, and standards
Business Analysis & Consulting
- Partner with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements, ensuring a clear understanding of project goals.
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge base by documenting processes, assumptions, and key decisions throughout the project.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field is preferred
- 5+ years of experience with SQL Server and Oracle administration and maintenance in the upstream oil and gas industry
- Expertise in writing and optimizing SQL queries
- Experience with database backup, recovery, and security procedures
- Database replication technologies and methodologies
- Understanding of database architecture principles
- Cloud database management experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Ability to conduct comprehensive database health checks and provide detailed reports on environment status and process efficiency
- Performance tuning and optimization skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Proven experience in requirements gathering and documentation, system integration mapping, system consulting, or similar roles, with a focus on technical solutions
