As part of its mandate to effectively and efficiently market the Port of Halifax to the rest of the world, the Halifax Port Authority (HPA) undertook a project to determine how the organization could make use of the Internet as a competitive advantage for the HPA.
The HPA contracted with Novus to work with senior management to define and plan the opportunities available for the HPA with e-business. Following a sequence of meetings, facilitations and investigations, a five-year plan was developed for the organization.
This plan included identifying the e-business initiatives; broadly defining the approach to be taken towards implementation of each initiative; planning and budgeting for staffing requirements, hardware, software, and infrastructure requirements; and identifying policy statements for the organization.
