In 2001 GO Transit, Canada's first, and Ontario's only, interregional public transit system, needed new finance, human resources and payroll systems to replace aging hardware and software that was no longer being supported by suppliers and, in the longer run, would not respond to the organization's information needs.

Novus guided GO Transit through the systems acquisition process using the Novus Systems Procurement Methodology customized to meet GO Transit's procurement policies. This work included a "market scan" for potential solutions, a public tendering process, assessment of "best of breed" versus "integrated ERP" solutions and the negotiation of a contract with a global ERP vendor to provide the application software, methodology and consulting resources to work with a GO implementation Transit team. GO Transit subsequently engaged Novus to be the GO Transit project manager for the implementation phase.
